Pricing:

Portrait prices are based upon size and complexity. A portrait of a single subject 11 x 14 in watercolor starts at $300. Custom sizes, colors, or additional subjects are extra. Oils are 25% higher. The price is set after the initial consultation with the client. A deposit is required to begin work.

Prices are for original unframed art only and do not include framing or the underlying copyright of the image, which remains the property of the artist unless other arrangements have been made, agreed to in advance and paid for. All publication & reproduction rights are retained by the artist.

My Process

I usually work from photographs. These can be supplied by the customer, or taken by me.

I cannot use previously published photos. Those taken by other people require a signed release. The photo is critical to the success of the finished painting, so I will help you choose the picture that will work best.

Commissions & Deposits

I require a deposit on the commission of a portrait. The amount depends on the size & complexity of the painting. Generally, at least 30% is required for moderately-sized and complex works. This amount is due before actual work commences.
